No need to wory - hot pots, pans, and casserole dishes are not a problem for granite. Is Granite stain resistent? By nature granite is a very dense stone. Once the stone has been polished, the surface becomes almost completely impervious to liquid. As an extra measure of caution every granite countertop is treated with inpregnating silicone sealer. The sealer essentially waxes the surface and acts as a liquid repellant. How long will I not be able to use my kitchen? You will need to disconnect your plumbing and remove the old tops the day before installation. You can reconnect the plumbing as soon as the installation is complete. Down time is minimal. Do I have to tear out my old tops to get the template done? No, templates can be done with your existing top in place. You can have the plumbing disconnected and remove the old tops the day before the installation.

Do I have to seal my granite? You should seal your granite to help protect your investment. The granite will be sealed when it is installed. To test your sealant, occasionally sprinkle water on the countertop. If the water beads, the sealant is fine. It does not hurt to seal it once a year and it takes less than 20 minutes. Why is the color of the installed granite slightly different then the sample provided? Granite is a product of nature and will have some variation from one lot of material to the next. The variation should be of a reasonable amount and should not be drastically different than the sample.
